Alexis Saelemaekers, AC Milan forward, has a more serious injury than expected. And it may affect going to the World Cup with the Belgian national team.

The 23-year-old attacking midfielder, who was just playing for the Red Devils, suffered an injury in the Rossoneri’s 3-1 win over Empoli on Saturday.

A report on Sunday revealed that the Saelemaekers have suffered a minor ligament tear in the knee ligament.

According to Italian media outlets, Saelemaekers will miss at least six weeks. And it may affect the chances of going to the World Cup final with the Belgian national team at the end of next month.

Various factors must wait for confirmation from the club again on how to proceed with the treatment. But the minimum time frame is 6 weeks, which is likely to be longer if the agency decides to send the player ufabet for surgery.

In an official statement, the Rossoneri said: “Alexis Saelemaekers sprained his left knee in the game against Empoli. The examinations carried out this morning revealed a partial tear of the medial collateral ligament. The player will undergo conservative treatment.”

Saelemaekers moved to Milan in 2020 for 5.25 million euros, where he became a national player. He has made seven appearances for Milan this season, assisting with one goal. Due to his injury, the right winger will be out for at least two months.
